VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM


The success of the Sierraflor Foundation depends on the support of businesses, schools, communities, and people like you.


We are currently seeking volunteers (minimum 25 years old) in the following areas:

    1. Experienced and trained (bilingual or English speakers) nursery teachers.
    2. Primary school (bilingual or English speakers) teachers.
    3. Individuals with experience with fundraising that want to make a meaningful contribution to the sustainable development of our community.
    4. Doctors, nurses, or senior (at least in your fourth year) medical students to collaborate with our medical program.

9. Terms and conditions of volunteering:
 
a. Work relationship: although I am not considered an employee of the Sierra Flor Foundation, I understand that I will be subject to the authorities set forth by the Foundation.
 
 
b. Economic support: I understand that the Foundation does not provide any economic compensation for its volunteers and that I am responsible for all my expenditures, including the cost of arriving to and departing from Ecuador. Therefore I declare that I have enough funds with which to maintain myself during my time of volunteering.
 
 
c. Room and Board: I understand that the Foundation offers free housing which consists of a room that could be shared with another volunteer in a shared house with other volunteers. The Foundation offers four daily meals that consist of a complete breakfast, midmorning fruit, complete lunch and afternoon yogurt. I am responsible for dinners and meals during weekends and holidays.
 
 
d. Medical Insurance: I will have medical insurance that covers international costs and life insurance. I understand that the Foundation does not cover medical costs for sickness, accidents nor death of volunteers even though these might occur during my time volunteering. I understand that my application will not be processed without my forwarding a current copy of my medical and life insurance policy.
 
 
e. Passports and Visas: I am responsible for obtaining and covering the costs of my passport and visa. The Sierra Flor Foundation will only provide a letter accepting me as a volunteer and describing the activities and conditions of volunteering with the Foundation.
 
 
f. Confidentiality and publication of information: as a volunteer I will respect the confidentiality of all the information related to the Foundation or its members that directly or indirectly I will come to know. I will not publish any report or photographs of the Foundation or its members without previous authorization of the Foundation.
 
 
g. Language: I promise to speak English with the students during the school day at the Foundation. I understand that if I do not do so my volunteer contract with the Foundation can be terminated.
 
 
h. Drugs and alcohol: I promise not to use drugs or abuse alcohol while a volunteer with the Sierra Flor Foundation
